Do you know how to charge the phone?
As you’ve probably noticed, we like to move the seemingly banal subjects. I mean things which everybody knows, everyone knows how to do it. However, life shows that in most cases this is done badly.
We wrote about setting up a router at home by reading the instructions, or by discussions of HelpDesk. Today we decided to take a while to subject “the phone” – exactly charging them …
Always amuses me when friends buying new phones and after a few months they cry that the battery is not holding them as much as it should. At first it all was fine but now they have to charge phone a few times a day.
People always answer that we have to charge phone via charger. The answer is not bat, however, the important thing is that its not so important as they think. There is a certain set of principles that should be applied during this process, and that users do not use.
Let’s start with the most important thing. I mean the charging process itself, and exactly how much we keep our little toy charging. The official rule is: you should charge the phone when discharged completely. But this is not entirely true. The thing is that it is best for the phone to start charging when the battery is approximately 20% – 40% energy in reserve. It is precisely for Li-Ion battery (we no longer have NiCd or NiMH). We have also another interesting news that can really surprise you. Experts say you may harm battery be completely charge the phone, i mean to the max. They recommend to unplug the charger when the battery reaches approx. 80% of its capacity. You can not charge the phone too often and for too long, because the battery is susceptible to the influence of heat and quite may be damaged, and that’s exactly what happens.
It means, that it is better not leave your phone on the charger overnight. That is actually what most of us are doing. We know even one well-known company, which phones are connected 24/7 via USB to your computer (a USB charging) and unfortunately it swell their batteries.
There is one more mistake made by mobile phone users, which is probably the most stupid mistake you can imagine.
A lot of people do not use original chargers but they use some Chinese counterfeits.
Remember that the charger has two parameters – voltage and charging current. The first is not a problem. Nowadays all smartphones are 5V. Its all up to the optimal charging current from the battery, depends on your phone. The point is that the greater capacity of battery needs more current to charge the battery.
